Prayerful Concerns of Our Parish Community: Corpus Christi

We hope you find these Prayers of the Faithful from the weekend’s Masses to be helpful in your own prayer life – to consider, reflect and talk about with God.
Prayers of the Faithful – Corpus Christi June 17-18, 2022
God, we come, today and every day, as guests of Christ our Brother, Host, and Savior. We come, now, with these needs and hopes in our hearts as we pray:
Jesus, many of us often come to your table. Let it be for us, not routine, but a deeply felt desire to join you and our sisters and brothers as your people, seeking to follow your way. You are our Host. May we welcome in love everyone you invite to your table. We pray to the Lord.
Today is Father’s Day and we pray for those who are our Fathers. Bless them with the graces and helps they need in this life. Give us words to speak to them our love. Grant healing and forgiveness where this is needed. Enfold in your love our fathers and fatherly folk who have died. Console those who are grieving the loss of a person who has been a father to them. We pray to the Lord.
God this month we also seek blessing for our LGBTQ siblings, people who have often suffered and been misunderstood even and especially by your church. Guide and protect those young people who are discovering who you created them to be. Let our parish be a community which welcomes them as you do. We pray to the Lord.
With St. Francis we pray that where there is injury, we may bring healing, where there is ignorance and fear, we may bring truth, light, and hope; where there is resentment and anger, we may bring love. We pray to the Lord.
Keep Pope Francis and all leaders of communities of faith close to your heart. Guide and protect them. We pray to the Lord.
For those for whom summer brings more work than relaxation: farm workers and migrant pickers, restaurant and hospitality workers, contractors and road work crews, those entertaining family and friends who are visiting. We pray to the Lord.
That our beloved dead, who have gathered at your Table here, may now be enjoying the heavenly feast with all the saints. At this liturgy we especially remember:
4:30 PM Jim Curran
7:30 AM Valerie Ingalls McKague and For the People of the Parish both Living & Deceased
9:30 AM Jimmy & Kay Nappi
5:00 PM Berlin & Alex Castillo
We pray to the Lord.
Nourishing God, you promise that nothing is lacking to those who love you. Multiply your blessings among us for our good and your glory. Yours be the praise and the glory through Jesus Christ, for ever and ever. Amen.
