Prayerful Concerns of Our Parish Community – Christmas

Dec 26, 2022 | Prayers of the Faithful

Merry Christmas!  We offer these Prayers of the Faithful from Masses for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2022.  May we reflect on our many blessings with gratitude and support the prayerful intentions of our neighbors, known and unknown to us, too.

When the world was dark and the city was quiet, you came. You crept in beside us And no one knew, only the few who dared to believe that God might do something different.

Lord, come into the darkness of today’s world, a darkness in which people have stopped believing that war will end or food will come or a government will change or that the Church cares or that they matter. We pray to the Lord.

Lord come into the darkness when the phone has not rung, the letter has not come, the friendly voice no longer speaks, the doctor’s face says it all. We pray to the Lord.

Lord come to be with travelers, those traveling home for Christmas, those traveling because they have no place they can call their own. Come to be with children who will be born today and for their families. We pray to the Lord.

Lord come to be with all who are sick and for those who care for them (we pause now if you wish to mention aloud or silently the name of a person….). We pray to the Lord.

Lord, come to be with us in our needs, our worries, hopes, and dreams. Be with us and with our families. We pray to the Lord.

This Christmas and New Year, be close to our parish and school. Help us to speak and live your message of love for all people. We pray to the Lord.

At this Christmas Mass we especially remember our loved ones and pray they are with you. We remember them with flowers given in their names, with the white lights we bless at our first Christmas Mass at St. Joseph, we remember them in our hearts. At this liturgy we especially entrust to you:
4:00 PM St. Pius X:  Jimmy & Kay Nappi by Robert & Linda
4:00 PM St. Joseph:  Raymond & Ida Thibodeau & Donald Ingalls by Jean & Family
6:30 PM St. Pius X: Richard Colucci by Sharon Robbins
10:00 PM St. Joseph: For the People of the Parish both Living & Deceased
7:30 AM St. Joseph: John Roberts by Ralph Roberts
9:30 AM St. Pius X: Vivian P. Ryan by her Husband Bob
9:30 AM St. Joseph:  Briana Marie Murphy by the Conley-Murphy Family
We pray to the Lord.

Immanuel, God with us, help us this Christmas to listen to the angels and not be afraid of you. Help us to believe in your love for us. Come into our lives with joy. Amen.
