Prayers of the Faithful – 7th Sunday of Easter (May 11-12, 2024)

We come together today to live the blessings Jesus prayed for his followers and friends: to live in truth and faith, too see more clearly and serve more deeply we pray.

We give thanks for the gift of our new Bishop James Ruggieri, blessed by You and commissioned to serve, lead and guide us. Grant him courage, compassion, wisdom and vision and great consolation in his service. We pray to the Lord.

We pray for teachers, parents and youth workers celebrating God’s presence amongst the young and teaching them to follow Jesus’ Way. We especially pray for our young people who in two weeks will be confirmed and receive Eucharist for the first time. Bless them and their families. We pray to the Lord.

We pray that the Holy Spirit will guide our selection of people to join our Parish Pastoral Council, we pray to the Lord.

On this Mother’s Day weekend we pray for our mothers, bless those who are with us with all the gifts they most need; bless those who have died with the fullness of eternal life. Tell them we love them and miss them. Bless all who “mother us” whomever they may be. We pray to the Lord.

We pray that in some way all of us will join in making possible the work of the church across Maine by our prayers and our participation in this year’s Catholic Appeal. We pray to the Lord.

For those who struggle with belief and faith or struggle to believe that God’s love is for them. May their hearts be warmed and their minds opened. We pray to the Lord.

We ask Christ’s presence in the troubled places of our world: where conflict is real and peace seems a distant dream, where greed is honored and generosity is mocked, where the powerful are heard and the powerless are ignored, where people are discriminated against because of race, creed, gender, sexual identity or other ways of labeling people as unequal, we pray to the Lord.

For the fullness of peace and light for our deceased brothers and sisters, we pray to the Lord. At this liturgy we especially remember:

4:30 PM  Deceased Members of the Aceto Family by the Family

7:30 AM  The People of the Parish, both Living & Deceased

9:30 AM Richard Dillihunt by John & Eileen Fox

5:00 PM Marjorie Lenois by Natalie Baltos

We pray to the Lord.

We offer you these prayers and those we hold in our hearts. Give us a vision of your kingdom, an openness to your rule, and your Spirit to guide us. Hear us, through Christ, the risen and ascended one. Amen.
