Prayerful Concerns of Our Parish Community: 5th Sunday of Easter

May 16, 2022 | Prayers of the Faithful

Each week, we’ll share the Prayers of the Faithtful from the weekend. You may find this to be a helpful way to guide your own reflections, prayers, and conversations with God. Below you will find the Prayers of the Faithful for the 5th Sunday of Easter, May 14-15, 2022.

Let us pray that the blessings of the resurrection and gifts of the Holy Spirit will bear fruit in our world through the witness of the Church and these, our prayers:

For all ministers of the church, those who are ordained and those who are not, that they live in Christ’s love and are signs of that love to the world, we pray to the Lord.

For our young people who will be Confirmed and receive First Eucharist this weekend, that these sacraments, promises of God’s presence to them, will draw them and their families deeper into Christ’s community of love, we pray to the Lord.

In thanksgiving for those children we are baptizing this Easter season and for all those who are being drawn to our parish and its mission, we pray to the Lord.

For the people of Ukraine, Yemen and other areas of violence in our world and all places where human rights are violated, for the gifts of peace, justice for them and the support of people of goodwill throughout the world, we pray to the Lord.

Pope Francis has said “our common home is truly in danger.” He is joined by other church leaders and scientists. Our two Senators hold key positions in determining government action to respond to this danger, especially in limiting carbon emissions. May they be leaders of courage, we pray to the Lord.

For families and individuals struggling because of high prices and high energy costs. May we understand why this is so and not be misled, and may we help and serve one another in times of difficulty, we pray to the Lord.

That good candidates step forward to serve on our parish Pastoral and Finance Councils and may those chosen act with wisdom, faith and courage, we pray to the Lord.

For those who have died, that they live forever in Christ’s love. At this liturgy we especially remember:
4:30 PM Janet Aceto Shannon
7:00 AM Marito Guinoo
8:00 AM Emma Fournier
9:00 AM Emerich & Mary Paul
10:00 AM Heidi Foster
5PM For all Members of the Parish, Living and Deceased.
We pray to the Lord

You have revealed your compassion to us in the risen Lord. Give answer to our prayers, so that we may love one another as Christ has loved us and praise your name for ever and ever. Amen.
