Prayerful Concerns of Our Parish Community – 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time

We post these Prayers of the Faithful each week, with the hope that they might help with personal prayer and reflection, knowing that the whole of Our Lady of Hope Parish joins in prayer.
Below are the Prayers of the Faithful for the 25th Week in Ordinary Time (Sept 17-18, 2022).
In Jesus we see the power of goodness is stronger than evil, light is stronger than darkness. In this hope and promise we pray:
That our church, its leaders and our parish seek to continue to grow in faithfulness to Jesus’ mission of integrity, mercy and the promotion of justice, we pray to the Lord.
In the face of dishonesty, injustice and corruption in our world, we pray that we do not lose courage or become cynical but remain strong in hope, committed to what is right and good, we pray to the Lord.
For an ending of the war in Ukraine which will bring peace – and respects the integrity of the Ukrainian people, we pray to the Lord.
That leaders of governments and those in authority will imitate the Lord’s love for justice in their words and deeds, we pray to the Lord.
For those who suffer from injustice, violence and abuse of their dignity because of domestic and gang violence and or the results of long-held views that discriminate against them, we pray to the Lord.
For those women and men whose words and actions defend the poor, expose the evil and harm that is being done, and call us to protect the natural universe and all creatures, we pray to the Lord.
That Queen Elizabeth and all who have died will rejoice in the Lord’s salvation in heaven. At this liturgy we especially remember:
4:30 PM Thomas Ferrante by Kay & Willy Guimond
7:30 AM For the People of the Parish both Living & Deceased
9:30 AM Anne Hayes by her sister Natalie Baltos
5:00 PM Carl H. Haynes by Rose & Dick Morris
We pray to the Lord
Lord hear our prayers, and if today we might be the means by which you answer the prayers of others, then may you find us neither deaf nor defiant, but eager to fulfil your purpose. We make these prayers in the name of Christ our Lord and Brother. Amen
