Prayerful Concerns of Our Parish Community -15th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Jul 11, 2022 | Prayers of the Faithful

Grateful for a beautiful Maine summer weekend, we share these Prayers of the Faithful from the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time, July 9-10, 2022 with the hope that they are helpful to you as you reflect, pray, and talk with God (and listen) this week.

We turn to you God, now, and bring the prayers of our community and hearts. Renew us in love of you and of our neighbor.

For the leaders of the churches that they will speak as Jesus desires, words of welcome, healing, hope and encouragement to those who struggle; words of wisdom and honesty to the powerful, we pray to the Lord.

For Fr. Tomy and the work of his congregation. For our brother and sister Catholics and Christians in the parts of the world where there is danger and suffering. And, in thanks for the growth and energy of churches in Africa and Asia, we pray to the Lord.

For women, men and children living where there is not enough clean water. May we find ways to bring water to them. For women, men and children living where water is wasted or taken for granted. May we bring new vision to them. For all us us, that we might heed Pope Francis’ call to interior conversion in caring for the earth, our common home, let us pray to the Lord.

For those who feel that there is no hope for them, that they are unwanted, or could never be forgiven or forgive themselves; for those of us who will not forgive others. God touch these hearts, our hearts, with your love. Let it be possible for us to believe in your tenderness for us, we pray to the Lord.

That our celebration of the Eucharist today surprise us, move us beyond habit, be a real experience of being loved, called, wanted, we pray to the Lord.

For our brothers and sisters, parents, friends and neighbors who have died, that they will rejoice in the Lord’s voice calling them to eternal life. At this liturgy we especially remember:

4:30 PM Melda Downes
7:30 AM For the People of the Parish both Living & Deceased
9:30 AM Janet Aceto Shannon
5:00 PM In Thanksgiving For All The Lord Has Given by Joy
We pray to the Lord

Merciful God, may the words of our mouths, the thoughts of our hearts, and the work of our hands, proclaim the holiness we find in Jesus. Help us to live as members of his Body, one with you and with each other in the bond of love, now and forever. Amen.
