Prayerful Concerns of Our Parish Community – 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Jul 17, 2023 | Prayers of the Faithful

We offer these Prayers of the Faithful for the15th Sunday in Ordinary Time (July 15-16, 2023).

God, you are a God of bounty, not shortages. You are a God of mercy and love, not anger and judgment. Help us to trust in your true nature. Help us to see your bounty in our lives. We pray:

For people around us who are using and multiplying the gifts you give them, in music, and theater, in science and healthcare, in leadership and service, in the ordinary encounters of life which are carriers of your grace. We pray to the Lord.

For the Church at its best when we are a people of welcome and hope, optimism, and laughter. We pray to the Lord.

That you will send our community a woman or man with the gifts to be our Finance Manager, we pray to the Lord.

For women and men with the vision to see the injustice in our land and in your world and the courage to lead us in better ways, we pray to the Lord.

For those among us and among your people whose life experiences and needs have left them with little or no experience of hope and love, especially those who have turned to drugs to ease their loneliness and pain. For those who love them and those who seek to lead them to safety and health, we pray to the Lord.

For the work Sr Nancy shared with us last week and for those here who have shared the gift of their prayers and financial resources for that work, we pray to the Lord.

For our friends and neighbors who have completed their journey in this life. That they now experience your limitless love. At this liturgy we especially entrust to you:

4:30 PM  James & Dorothy Hayes by their daughter Natalie Baltos

7:30 AM Leon Moreland by Dottie Alward

9:30 AM William & Michael Jennings by Family

5:00 PM The People of the Parish both Living & Deceased

We pray to the Lord.

God, we make these prayers in hope and trust. Strengthen us to play our part in the story of creation as it continues to unfold. Help us to give of ourselves and, in our giving, discover the gifts you have given us. Help us to bring life to others and find a reason to dance for joy. We make these prayers through Christ our Lord. Amen.
