Prayerful Concerns of Our Parish Community – 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Jul 5, 2022 | Prayers of the Faithful

We share these Prayers of the Faithful from the 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time, July 2-3, 2022 with the hope that you find them helpful.

God, we are celebrating the birth of our Nation this week, AND we know you are a God of all nations and all people. As we pray now, let us remember Jesus’ command that we love one another – with no exceptions.

We call our Church “Catholic” which means “universal.” Help us to live out our name and be a church and a parish which welcomes all people. Guide our spiritual leaders in their actions and statements, we pray to the Lord.

Inspire us to work that our country more and more reflects its founding values of “liberty and justice for all.” Heal our hearts and minds and speech from all that demeans and dismisses our fellow citizens, we pray to the Lord.

Our world is facing a crisis in food supplies. Guide us in our use of food, grateful for what we have and sharing what we can. Give us a voice so agencies and governments will take action to save lives, we pray to the Lord.

As Christians we pray for the desire and ability to respond with charity in support of the life of the child in the womb whose dignity deserves our respect and legal protection, FOR the mother who is afraid, alone or whose life may be in jeopardy, and with respect for all who struggle with this most divisive issue in our country and our world, we pray to the Lord.

For all whose ministry and life is health care. For those, especially children, who are seriously ill, and for those in long-term care or struggling to find adequate long-term care and their families, we pray to the Lord.

For those who have died, that they will know the joy promised by the prophet Isaiah.
At this Mass we particularly entrust to you:
4:30 PM Marie O’Connell
7:30 AM Paul Hayes
9:30 AM Mary Litcher
5:00 PM Berlin Castillo and For the People of the Parish both Living & Deceased
We pray to the Lord.

God, you are a God of both comfort and challenge. We place these prayers and those we carry in our hearts into your heart, through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
