All Saints Day – Prayers of the Faithful

Prayers of the Faithful – All Saints Day
Generous God, we thank you for the people who are pointers and signs that remind us of your love, your constancy and call to action. We pray:
We give thanks for the wise, wonderful, and often ordinary people who have altered the paths of our lives. We pray to the Lord.
We pray for peacemakers, for peacemakers who live and work in places of conflict, for peacemakers who live in our own communities and homes. We pray to the Lord.
We pray for those with the courage to acknowledge when they have been wrong. We pray for those who have the courage to speak the truth and for ourselves that we might be given that gift when it is needed. We pray to the Lord.
We pray for those who have stood alongside us, holding us in the depths of elation or despair where words of joy or rescue fall silent. We give thanks and pray to the Lord.
We celebrate those who have challenged us to grow, perceiving all that we have it in us to become and daring us to dream beyond our imagining. We pray to the Lord.
We celebrate those who have travelled before us, showing us in their persistent courage and tenderness how to live in love, and die in faith and hope. At this liturgy we especially remember:
VIGIL:
5:30 PM The People of the Parish both Living & Deceased
7:00 PM Special Intention
HOLY DAY:
9:00 AM Phil Cheney by Terry & Ray Moughalian
We pray to the Lord.
Holy and merciful God, write the values of the beatitudes into our hearts and lives; and help us, with all your saints and angels, to seek your face and happily walk in your ways. Amen.
